No Vote Taken on Savannah's Organic Ranch; Second Attempt to Be Made Within 30 Days

Lack of a quorum means no vote during Thursday's special Aliso Viejo Community Association delegates meeting.

The Aliso Viejo Community Association failed to meet the quorum requirement, resulting in no vote Thursday night for the approval of a land lease for Savannah's Organic Ranch.

The association will meet for a vote within 30 days. During the meeting, delegates were able to direct questions about the project to Ross Chun, AVCA president and Joe Sachen from Savannah's Organic Ranch. Sachen, the father of Savannah Sachen, who lost her battle with cancer at age 8, plans to build an organic ranch on the property in Aliso Viejo in honor of Savannah's dream to own an organic farm.

Joe remains positive about the project and asks residents to contact their delegates to show support for Savannah's Organic Ranch.

The date for the next vote has not yet been decided.

Keep the Faith!!! Contact your delegates tell them how important this project is for children suffering from cancer. Savannah did not give up and neither should we!
Love!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The first attempt at a vote to consider the use and development of land for an organic garden by Savannah's Ranch was predicatably not taken by the AVCA delegates, since it is oftent difficult to get quorum the first time around. Hopefully, the second attempt will take place soon and the measure will be seriously considered and approved. The concept behind the proposal is provide an educational opportunity for our community children to experience, explore, and learn about not only good nutrition but see and taste the results of their planting and harvesting plants. What a learning opportunity our children will be afforded and what a life lesson to bestow upon them. Hopefully, AVCA delegates will understand the impact of such an opportunity as they consider by a casting of their votes - the legality, cost, and liability of such an effort. And, if I understand what is being proposed, it will be legal (approval of the delegate), cost should be minimal if at all, and liability should, hopefully, not be an issue for AVCA. And, perhaps, Savannah's dream will be ours too.
