CPR Training, Karaoke and Your Chance to Win

Five things you need to know today, Feb. 27.

  1. From 2 to 4 p.m. Canyon Vista Elementary School will be hosting CPR training from SureFire CPR. Space is limited, so call early today to register for the class. The training session costs $39 per person. Call: 949-547-1723.
  2. If you'd rather show off your own star qualities this evening instead of watching the Academy Awards, head over to karaoke night at Time Out Tavern & Night Club. Karaoke begins at 8 p.m.
  3. The storm has passed. The weather report calls for sunny skies with a chilly high of 54 and a low of 38. According to the National Weather Service, plan for sun and crisp winter air all week.
  4. Don't forget to send in your predictions for tonight's Oscar winners. The first reader to send in a comment with the correct predictions for Best Picture, Best Actor and Best Actress, will win a $50 Starbucks gift card.
  5. Aliso Viejo Patch still needs your help finding amazing and talented kids in the community. We are looking for individuals, youth groups or teens that deserve acknowledgment for their achievements. Each week we will profile a different Patch Whiz Kid. Send me an email with your nominations for the next Aliso Viejo Whiz Kid and be sure to include the following information:
  • Nominator's Name
  • Nominator's E-Mail
  • Whiz Kid's Name
  • Whiz Kid's Age
  • Whiz Kid's School
  • Whiz Kid's Accomplishment
  • Whiz Kid's Key to Awesomeness (what made him/her successful?)
