Date for Dog Park Walk-Through on Tap

Will you be attending the Aliso Canyon Community Park walking tour?

A flyer promoting the upcoming walk-through of Aliso Canyon Community Park, the proposed site of Aliso Viejo's first dog park, is making the rounds.

The Aliso Viejo Community Association will select a date for the tour during its next board meeting on April 9.

Residents are encouraged to attend the walk-through to provide input and ideas for the dog park. Patch readers have voiced their opinions through comments and emails. So far, there have been requests for separate sections for large and small dogs and the placement of at least two dog bag dispensers for cleanup.

Some residents have been hoping for the addition of a dog park for many years.

AVCA board members and volunteers from the Parks and Landscape Committee have been evaluating plans that were drafted five years ago when the dog park was seriously being considered.

One Patch commenter said, “Please don't get too excited just yet. We've been here before, and have had the plans fall through for one reason or another. On the day we break ground, I will rejoice! But, thanks should be given to the current AVCA Board for their vote to proceed with the plans, once again. AVCA has my full support for the Dog Park, and we will certainly use the park when it becomes a reality.”
