Grab & Go Kids Planner: Meet the Cat in the Hat

This week's Grab 'n' Go brings you an assortment of outings for you and your family. Whether you're toting around toddlers or teens, we have something for you. 

Look for the kids’ planner each Wednesday, and help us build the planner with your own suggestions and tips—just add them to the comment box. Even if you disagree with our picks, let us know. We want to hear from you!

KIDZONE
Where/When: Azarian Gymnastics, 1 Argonaut, Aliso Viejo.  Every Saturday 6 to 10 p.m.
Why go: Four hours of open gym, pizza, fun and games for ages 5 and up.
Pricing: $25 for members, $30 for nonmembers.  Sibling and first-time discounts available.

WATERCOLOR WORKSHOP
Where/When: Aliso Viejo Library, 1 Journey, Aliso Viejo.  Saturday, March 12, 1 to 2 p.m.
Why go: The whole family can have fun painting with watercolors.
Pricing: Free

PRETEND CITY
Where/When: Pretend City, 29 Hubble, Irvine.  Monday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesday to Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Why go: There's an entire city where kids can pretend to live, work and play.
Pricing: Infants to 12 months: free, children and adults: $11, military and family members: $8. After 4 p.m. children and adults: $5.50, military and family members: $5.

MEET THE CAT IN THE HAT!
Where/When: The Bowers Kidseum, 1802 N. Main St., Santa Ana.  Friday, March 11 at 10:30 a.m.
Why go: Kids can hear a story, meet a character and create an art project.
Pricing: 2 years and older: $6, under 2 year: free.  Free for museum members.
