Grab 'n' Go Kids Planner: Charitable Fun

Hawaiian culture, dragons and sea lions.

This week's Grab 'n' Go brings you an assortment of outings—some for charity, some just for fun. Whether you're toting around toddlers or teens, we have something for you. 

Look for the kids’ planner each Wednesday, and help us build the planner with your own suggestions and tips—just add them to the comment box. Even if you disagree with our picks, let us know. We want to hear from you!

HAWAIIAN LUAU
Where/When: Campus Green, Soka University, 1 University Dr., Aliso Viejo.  Friday, April 1, 5:30 to 7:30p.m.
Why go: To enjoy a Kahlua pork luau dinner and entertainment by Soka University's Hawaiian dance club.
Pricing: $12

HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON
Where/When: On the lawn at Orange County Great Park, Sand Canyon and Marine Way, Irvine.  Saturday, April 2 at 8 p.m.  Weather permitting.
Why go: To escape into a world of burly Vikings and wild dragons.  Rated PG.  Bring lawn chairs.
Pricing: Free parking and admission

ART AND SEA LIONS
Where/When: Pacific Marine Mammal Center, 20612 Laguna Canyon Rd., Laguna Beach.  Saturday, April 2, 9 to 10:30 a.m.
Why go: Children and adults can make a clay sculpture of a seal or sea lion after studying live seals and sea lions. 
Pricing: $20 for adults, $15 for ages 6 to 18 (must be accompanied by an adult)

AFTER SCHOOL CLUB
Where/When:
Aliso Viejo Library, 1 Journey, Aliso Viejo.  Wednesday, April 6 (and the first Wednesday of every month) 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.
Why go:
First- through fourth-graders can enjoy stories and crafts.
