Where/When: Aliso & Wood Canyons Wilderness Park. Meet at Ranger Headquarters, Gate 1, 28373 Alicia Parkway, Laguna Niguel. Saturday, May 28, 10 to 11:30 a.m.
Why go: To see beautiful canyon views on an easy, family-friendly, 6-mile ride with a park ranger.
Pricing: $2 per person; $3 per vehicle for parking
MEMORIAL MARATHON
Where/When: Monday May 30, half marathon and 5K start in front of Saddleback Memorial Hospital, 24451 Health Center Dr, Laguna Hills, and finish at Laguna Hills Community Center, 25555 Alicia Parkway, Laguna Hills. Kids races start and finish at Laguna Hills Community Center. Half marathoners and 5K runners/walkers must be registered by 6:45 a.m. (race starts at 7 a.m.) Kids must be registered by 9:30 a.m. when the first race starts.
Why go: There’s a run/walk for all experience levels. Diaper Dash for 3 years and younger. Strollers welcome.
Pricing: $65 for Half Marathon, $30 for 5K Run/Walk, $20 for Half Mile Kids Run, $12 for Diaper Dash.

OCEAN INSTITUTEWhere/When: Dana Point Ocean Institute, 24200 Dana Point Harbor Dr, Dana Point. Saturdays and Sundays, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Why go: To enjoy aquarium exhibits, touch tanks and tour the Brig Pilgrim.
