Impromptu Sustainability Photo Shoot

Familiar faces gathered in Aliso Viejo Saturday to promote the 2012 Sustainability Forum.

Saturday morning, if you were driving up Pacific Park in Aliso Viejo, you may have seen a small gathering and some familiar faces.

Parents, teachers and students from several schools in Aliso Viejo stopped by for a photo in front of the banner promoting the . Gary Pritchard, president of the Capistrano Unified School District, was there with his daughter Charlotte.

Pritchard plans to attend the event to hear his fellow board member, trustee Lynn Hatton, speak about environmental education programs in the district. Bob Rieden, chairman of the Board, also stopped by with his daughter Rachel. Next week, Lisa Sachen, one of the founders of the organization, will be speaking about its contribution to the district's education program.

Students from the International Energy Alliance from public and private schools in South Orange County also attended, including Andrew Hunter, who interns with the City of Aliso Viejo and attends Aliso Niguel High School. Caroline Walters, daughter of Senator Mimi Walters and one of the founding members of the IEA, stopped by and spoke about an exciting program she is developing at St. Margaret's in San Juan Capistrano.

Jessica Murphy, also from the IEA, just registered for the forum today after visiting the impromptu photo session. Lori Walker, who teaches at , stopped by and received honks and cheers from passing motorists.

Donny Disbro, CEO of Professional Community Management, visited with the group on his way to several sports and community events on Saturday. Disbro is registered to attend the forum, and is a corporate sponsor of the event. His company is embarking on a comprehensive sustainability program, and supports Aliso Viejo in numerous ways. PCM is the management company contracted by the Aliso Viejo Community Association, so their service and influence can be seen throughout the community's 21 parks.
