Line Forms Overnight for a Year of Free Wings

Residents camp out overnight for the opening of Buffalo Wild Wings in Town Center, hoping to receive a year of free wings.

Throughout the night, a line of folding chairs, pillows and tents began to pop up around Buffalo Wild Wings in Town Center.

The restaurant opens its new location next to today at 11 a.m., but chicken enthusiasts have been waiting since yesterday afternoon. To promote their new location, Buffalo Wild Wings is offering free wings for a year to the first 100 guests.

A group of four was the first to arrive on Sunday around 2 p.m.

"It's been very cold and very loud. They brought their Xbox and have been playing it all night," said Laguna Niguel resident Kaitlyn Cabello. She began planning the camp out for free wings two weeks ago when she saw a sign on the restaurant's door.

Cameron Deatcherage, from Lake Forest, arrived at 6:30 p.m. in Sunday. Lounging on a beanbag chair, he managed to get some sleep in between watching movies on a friend's desktop computer.

"We watched a couple movies. We watched V for Vendetta and we watched ... I can't remember what else. It's been a long night," he said.

Throughout the evening, Buffalo Wild Wings employees passed out stickers to mark how long the patrons had been in line.

Free T-shirts, bracelets and other goodies were thrown into the crowd as the camping trip for chicken neared its end.
