Local Man Graduates from Marine Corps Boot Camp

Aliso Niguel graduate heads to Camp Pendleton for infantry training.

After 13 weeks of intensive basic training in San Diego Private Hunter Tangard, 19, of Aliso Viejo graduated from United States Marine Corps boot camp.

Tangard was one of 58 recruits in the 2nd Battalion, Echo Company, Training Platoon 2109. During his training at Marine Corps Community Services, Tangard earned a medal for Marine Corps Expert Rifleman and completed a mission named "The Crucible," which lasts 54 hours with only four hours of sleep and two meals.

Tangard will be reporting for two months of Infantry Training at Camp Pendleton's School of Infantry.
