Friday night at Grand Park, you can watch Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny and Jack Frost battle the forces of evil in Rise of the Guardians. The free movie starts at dusk and the event lasts from 7:30 to 10.
Not to be confused with Legend of the Guardian, a 2010 animated film about owls, Rise is a PG movie made by Dreamworks Studios.
Rotten Tomatoes critics give the movie 4 1/2 stars. Here are a few selections from Metacritic.com readers:
- "While its not going to earn "classic" status, it still on more than one occasion gets the job done."
- "I went into this movie thinking it would be okay and came out loving it. While premise may seem silly, worked surprisingly well."
