Multiple Injuries in 5-Car Pileup

Several people are hospitalized and the roadway is closed following a crash at Aliso Viejo Parkway and Grand.

A five-car crash at Aliso Viejo Parkway and Grand left multiple people injured and blocked a portion of Aliso Viejo Parkway for nearly two hours Saturday.

According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, the call came in at 1:25 p.m.

Investigators were still at the scene Saturday afternoon as rescue workers had to free at least one person from a trapped vehicle. Sheriff’s officials didn't immediately say what caused the wreck or how many people were injured. However, multiple victims had to be rushed to nearby hospitals, they said.

This intersection seems to be very dangerous. I see broken glass and car bits there often. I wonder why?

That is a good question and something Patch can look into. Do you think it's the worst intersection in the city, or are there others that seem to have a lot of accidents?

the worst intersection is El Toro Road and the southbound SR 73 offramp going toward Laguna Canyon Road - deaths there all the time. Aliso has poorly planned streets and intersections. it goes back to the city council, they should all rethink this priority.

There is nothing wrong with this intersection, just careless drivers around here. We get too comfy and start to think it could never happen to us. There is no reason to change anything in that intersection as it is no different than the rest of them....please let us not blame the street for our carelessness...be responsible. That simple

People certainly need to learn how to drive. I see atleast 3 crashes a day just going to and from work. http://jokeofthedayblog.blogspot.com
