More Than 150 in Line for Thursday Chick-fil-A Opening

Town Center's newest restaurant doesn't open until Thursday, but chicken fans are already in line with hopes of receiving one of the 100 "free Chick-fil-A for a year" coupons.

Doors to the new Chick-fil-A restaurant in Town Center will open at 6 a.m. on Thursday, but more than 150 people are already waiting in line.

Similar to the opening of Buffalo Wild Wings in March, 100 adults in line for the opening will receive free Chick-fil-A for one year. Chicken enthusiasts are already preparing.

Because of the large number of chicken fans over the years, Chick-fil-A has begun raffling off the 100 "free-year tickets."

"If there are more than 100 people prepared to participate on Wednesday at 6 a.m. local restaurant time, all 100 spots will be distributed via a raffle system. Each qualified person on-site at 6 a.m. local restaurant time on Wednesday will receive one entry into the raffle drawing. We recommend participants arrive no earlier than 5:30 a.m. local restaurant time on Wednesday, the day before the store officially opens."

Those who receive the coupons can use them at any Chick-fil-A in the country and can give away the coupons to anyone they wish. According to a Chick-fil-A spokesperson, many share them with family and friends,  and some donate them to Little League teams, civic groups or others who could benefit from free meals.

For the 100 recipients, this is what a free year of Chick-fil-A will look like:

"One Chick-fil-A Meal (Chicken Sandwich, Chick-fil-A Waffle Potato Fries and drink) per week for a year—equating to 52 meals."

The lottery has now begun. Once it's complete, the parking lot will turn into a 24-hour party, including entertainment, restrooms, security and food—all provided by Chick-fil-A. Recipients must be present for the entire 24 hours to receive the coupons Thursday. Wristbands are being handed out and periodic line checks will take place.
