Fog and Wind, Now Rain

There's a 90 percent chance of showers Friday in Aliso Viejo when nighttime temperatures will drop to 51 degrees.

A storm from the Gulf of Alaska is headed to Southern California Thursday night. Orange County will see showers first as the cold, wet system blows south, the National Weather Service reported.

There's also chance of thunderstorms late Friday morning, mainly over coastal waters and Orange County, the Weather Service noted.

Two-tenths of an inch are expected at sea level, with up to the three-quarters of an inch in the mountains, where snow may fall as low as 4,500 feet Friday morning. Above 5,000 feet, one to two inches of snow is expected.

Meanwhile, temperatures will drop by about 10 degrees Thursday with a high of 67 degrees in Aliso Viejo.

Friday will be even chiller: 57 degrees will be the high, 51 degrees the low.
