4th Annual Kentucky Derby Party

Can't make it to Churchill Downs for the 140th Run For the Roses?  Then plan on joining us for a Kentucky Derby Party at the Regency Theatres in San Juan Capistrano!

Sponsored by the San Juan Capistrano Equestrian Coalition (SJCEC), this year's 4th Annual Kentucky Derby Party includes a screening of the movie "Hidalgo". (The 2004 movie about down-and-out cowboy Frank Hopkins and his horse Hidalgo who travel the deserts of the Middle East in the 1890's to compete in a dangerous and grueling race across the desert will be quite a contract to the lush bluegrass of Kentucky.)

The Parade of Horses starts at 3 p.m., but plan on coming early.  The doors open at 1 p.m. and Rick's Café will have a special Derby menu available including Mint Juleps.  At 2:30, there will be a hat judging for all who would like to enter.  Immediately after watching a larger-than-life Kentucky Derby on the theatre's big screen, Hidalgo will be shown.

Tickets are $20 per person or $25 the day of the event.  You can purchase tickets directly from the Regency Theatre's box office or online at www.RegencyMovies.com.  Tickets are limited to the number of seats available in the theater, so do not delay!  For more information regarding the event, or other SJCEC activities, visit their website at www.SJCEC.org.
