Capistrano Connections Academy students challenge themselves at Kids Run the OC 2014

On May 3, Capistrano Connections Academy students will
gather for Kids Run the OC, where they’ll compete as a team in their own mini
marathon, just one day before the Orange County Marathon. With a group of more
than 20 participants, grades K-8, students will challenge themselves against
the goals each set for themselves in their virtual classroom. During the course
of their training, students focused on improving their running form, overcoming
nutritional challenges and learning about staying hydrated and eating healthy,
training alongside a team of their teachers who will run the half marathon on
May 4.

Families interested in learning about the
online school’s individualized approach to education are welcome to stop by our
booth (booth #3) at the event to talk with Capistrano Connections Academy teachers
and learn about how
they interact with students in the virtual environment; about Connections
Academy’s personalized learning opportunities; college preparation;
socialization; the role of the parent or other Learning Coach; and the use of
technology.
