Announces on-going   Volunteer and Usher Recruitment 


ALISO VIEJO, CA –Soka University of America seeks more volunteers to serve at its new 1,000 seat state-of-the-art Soka Performing Arts Center. The Center opened on September 17th, 2011 and continues to offer diverse and exciting programming by performing artists from all over the world and across multiple genres. Volunteers are needed as Ushers, Greeters and Guides, and in various capacities to assist patrons and Center staff during regular and special events throughout the season. 


Volunteers should be:

 Age 15 or older (written parent/guardian permission required for those under 18) 


 Friendly, outgoing and comfortable working with the public

 Able to stand for a 3-4 hour shift 


 Willing to serve at a minimum of four events each year 


The next Volunteer Training & Orientation sessions will be held: 


 Wednesday, September 4th at 6:30pm, and 


 Saturday, September 7th at 10:00am 


All new volunteers must attend one of the 2.5-hour sessions, which begin in the Main Lobby of the Soka Performing Arts Center. The address is 1 University Drive, Aliso Viejo, California 92656 and is accessed via Wood Canyon Drive between Pacific Park Drive and Alicia Parkway. 


Soka University is a private, four-year liberal arts college and graduate school located on 103-acres overlooking a wilderness park in Aliso Viejo, CA. SUA offers a 9:1 student/faculty ratio and study abroad for every undergraduate student. Soka University is founded upon the principles of peace, human rights and the sanctity of life and is open to top students of all nationalities and beliefs. About half of SUA's students come from the US and half from more than 40 other countries. SUA offers free tuition to eligible admitted BA students whose annual earned family income is $60,000 or less.
