Deputy Kevin de Fries was named Aliso Viejo's Deputy of the Year during a special Police Services' recognition breakfast today at the Aliso Viejo Conference Center.

"Each Deputy of the Year is selected by his or her peers and more than half of the deputies selected Kevin, whom they said is extremely proactive, takes pride in his work and is an asset to this department," said Lt. John MacPherson, chief of Aliso Viejo Police Services.

The deputy was recognized among his peers, Orange County Sheriff's Department command staff as well as Mayor Carmen Cave and Council Members Ross Chun, Mike Munzing and Bill Phillips.

MacPherson recognized the work that Deputy de Fries does and his entire staff that contributes to Aliso Viejo being a safe city. In fact, it was recently ranked as California's 4th safest city, according to SafeWise.
