Blotter: Man Brandishes Knife on Workers

The following is a selection of calls from Aliso Viejo to the Orange County Sheriff's Department from April 8 to April 12.

A caller said a tattooed man wearing a blue jacket approached him and gardeners working at the intersection of Seagull and Solitare Lane, and began taking off his shirt and jacket before pulling a knife out. 

The call was made around  2:35 p.m. Friday.

Suspicious person/circumstances. 5:22 p.m. Monday. El Toro Road and Aliso Creek Road.  A caller asked sheriff deputies to check for a man in his 40s, wearing a polo shirt, who came out of the bushes and began following a female hiker.

Suspicious person/circumstances. 2:17 p.m. Monday. Canyon Vistas and Pacific Park Drive.  A caller said a man carrying industrial grade bolt cutters was walking near the storage facility.

Suspicious person/circumstances. 7:18 p.m. Sunday. Foxborough and Deerhurst. A caller reported a dog owner who was letting her two dogs run off leash and swarm other people’s dogs.

Disturbance-mechanical. 11:17 a.m. Sunday. 100 block of Nantucket Lane.  A resident asked sheriff deputies to check for two men with tattoos on their faces and mohawks that were racing dirt bikes up and down the street.

Petty theft. 7:40 p.m. Saturday. Calle Cortez and Via Iglesia. A caller said the passengers of a silver Toyota Rav4 were taking a bench from the park and loading it into their car.

Suspicious person/circumstances. 5:14 p.m. Saturday. 0 block of Journey.  A caller who asked sheriff deputies to help her retrieve her belongings that she left inside the library when they closed, said that two kids who were climbing a wall nearby asked her if she wanted them to help her break in.

Suspicious person/circumstances. 10:26 p.m. Friday. 0 block of Red Bud. A resident reported someone who banged on their door and left a pile of papers on fire on their porch.

Vandalism in progress. 9:25 p.m. Friday. 0 block of Hawaii Drive. A resident reported a car doing doughnuts in a nearby parking lot.
