Breaking Fireworks Ban Could Carry Serious Penalties
The use of fireworks in South County cities could land violators a felony charge.
Aliso Viejo is not among the Orange County cities that allow fireworks, so if you use them in town, be prepared for possible penalties.
Penalties could range from a misdemeanor ticket to a felony charge—depending on the type of explosive used, according to Sgt. D.J. Haldeman with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
Haldeman encourages residents to report any violators to either the Sheriff’s Department or the Orange County Fire Authority.
