Celebrate Wildfire Awareness Week by Developing a Safety Plan

Dry vegetation and hot, dry winds make O.C. fires difficult to control.

In Orange County, wildfires are often hard to control, as they are fueled by dry vegetation and driven by hot, dry winds.

"Many residents have built their homes and landscaped without fully understanding the impact that could result from a wildfire, and few have adequately prepared their families for a quick evacuation," according to an OCFA press release.
