A man was rescued by firefighters after he crashed his mountain bike at 10:13 a.m. Tuesday. A helicopter was used to hoist him out from the Aliso and Wood Canyons Park.
The rider, who received head and shoulder injuries, was transferred to an ambulance that took him to the hospital.
“A helicopter flew him out and rendezvoused with an ambulance in the general area and he was transferred to the hospital with minor injuries,” said Capt. Greg McKeown of the Orange County Fire Authority.
The man, who crashed on the steep, rocky trail named “Rock-it,” was rescued by emergency personnel when someone in the area was able to get to a cell phone, McKeown said.
