Parents Protest Suspension of Players

The following is a selection of calls from Aliso Viejo to the Orange County Sheriff's Department from Feb. 11 to Feb. 15.

A caller said the disgruntled parents of suspended basketball players are putting fliers on windshields protesting their children's suspension from a tournament taking place at Aliso Niguel High School.

Police dispatch recieved the call around 9:43 a.m., Sunday at the 28000 block of Wolverine Way.

Suspicious person/circumstances. 3:59 p.m. Monday. 5200 block of Capobella. A resident said her neighbor has a device that cuts off her phone. She has been dealing with it for the past few days.

Stolen vehicle. 7:21 a.m. Monday. 23500 block of Windsong. A resident said her vehicle, which was last seen on Friday night, was stolen near her apartment complex.

Disturbance. 5:24 p.m. Saturday. 26900 block of Aliso Creek Road.  A resident asked sheriff deputies to check for a group of kids doing drugs near the area.

Vandalism report. 9:22 a.m. Saturday. 24600 block of Via San Juan. A security guard told police graffiti can be seen on a garage.

Follow up report. 3:45 a.m. Saturday. 0 block of Cupertino Circle. A resident said unknown people have been harassing her and removing things from her porch as well as slashing her tires.

Suspicious person/circumstances. 12:40 a.m. Saturday. Matisse Circle and Glenhurst. A resident reported three teenagers checking for open car doors of vehicle parked in the lot.

Disturbance. 10:14 p.m. Friday. 8400 block of City Lights Drive. A resident said four boys were smoking drugs and drinking near the stairwell of the building’s common area.

Petty theft. 4:08 p.m. Friday. 0 block of Dunlin Lane. A resident said an unknown man riding in a black Ford Mustang removed a package from their mailbox.

Reckless driving. 8:03 a.m. Friday. Aliso Creek Road and Glenwood Drive. A resident said the driver of a black BMW was yelling at the them while driving their son to school, later trying to run them off the road.
