Police Ask Public's Help in Finding Person of Interest

Authorities today sought public help to find a "person of interest" whose roommate's death in Laguna Hills is being investigated as a homicide.

Authorities today sought public help to find a "person of interest" whose roommate's death in Laguna Hills is being investigated as a homicide.

The victim -- whose name was withheld pending notification of relatives - - was found about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday in the apartment the men shared in the 25200 block of Stockport Street, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Department. The cause of death was not released.

"Based on preliminary information, this case is being investigated as a homicide," sheriff's spokeswoman Gail Krause said.

Henry Nunez Godinez, 22 -- also known as Henry Nunez -- is being sought as a person of interest in the case, Krause said. He was last seen Dec. 7.

Authorities released a photo of Godinez, described as Hispanic, with black hair and brown eyes, and a slender build. He may be "associated with" a black 2005 Volkswagen Jetta, license number 6KJM618, Krause said.

"Mr. Godinez and the victim were roommates and co-workers," Krause said. "Mr. Godinez is Nicaraguan, and may be traveling to Nicaragua via Mexico."
