Orange County Sheriff’s Department investigators are asking for help finding a “person of interest” in a case involving the stabbing death of a 23-year-old woman in Laguna Hills today.

Around 10 a.m., the sheriff’s department and the Orange County Fire Authority were called to a home on the 22200 block of Caminito Tasquillo in Laguna Hills.

They found a homeowner giving CPR to a woman, but she was pronounced dead on the scene, said Orange County Sheriff's Capt. Steve Doan.

``The victim was stabbed an unknown amount of times and died at the scene,'' he said. ``Investigators have not released the name of the victim or any other information about her relationship to Pinski pending notification of next of kin,'' he said.

"As part of the investigation, we have learned that an individual was at the scene," the department wrote in a written statement. "Derek Pinski, is a male Caucasian, about 25 years old, 6’ 3” tall, thin build, brown hair and brown eyes. If anyone were to see Mr. Pinski or the vehicle described above, we ask them to call 911 so the nearest law enforcement agency can respond. Mr. Pinski is a person of interest.  Pinski was home when the incident occurred but fled the scene shortly after , said Doan.

Investigators believe he is driving a 1999 black Honda Accord four door, California license plate 4EWY810.

Pinski may be driving a black four-door Honda Accord with the license plate: 4EWY810.

Anyone with any information about the case is asked to call 1-855-TIP-OCCS.

Get a good lawyer and don't say anything to the cops.

Have you known that girl personally? Even if you did, would you think it appropriate to post that kind of information about her publicly??? What a horrific comment!!!!! And how GROSSLY INSENSITIVE and rude you are to post that when her family is trying to deal with her death! SHAME on you!!! I realize free speech but it doesn't mean you have to revert to that low level of decorum here.... horrible comment and with no useful information or compassion whatsoever.

I agree with Les. Have some compassion (and common sense).

After reading the details of what happened, Natalie and Charles should feel really ashamed. And if they don't; well that says it all.

Sounds like you're ready to build a noose.

You mean "tie" a noose? Charles, someone has just lost their life. Someone has just lost a daughter, friend, cousin, neighbor. The news article appropriately says that the man was arrested "under suspicion" of committing the crime. No one is tying a noose. We are however, noting the premature death of a human being. Your advice to "not talk to the police" is not only inappropriate but crass and shows a serious lack of humanity. Your deflection is not sufficient to draw away from your original comment.

Why all the legal empathy for the suspect? A girl is dead.

But he was such a good kid, and never hurt a fly before. In typical coward fashion, I'm sure he'll plead "not guilty," by reason of being a jerk, or some other stupid defense. Maybe he'll claim she was attacking him, and he defended himself by stabbing her 50 times. After all, it's not like she'll be around to contest such a story. Go ahead and tie a noose. Is there really any doubt that he did it? The coward fled to Arizona to hide with his daddy. I'll be honest, I saw the guy's picture, and he looks like he's probably an arrogant jerk. Let him be one in prison for the next 30 years.
