Resident Spooks Burglars From Neighbor's Garage

The following is a selection of calls from Aliso Viejo to the Orange County Sheriff's Department from Feb. 18 to Feb. 22.

A resident reported two men, wearing black sweatshirts, trying to break into a neighbor's garage. They ran off after being spotted by the caller.

The call was made around 2:20 a.m., Friday at the 23300 block of El Reposa.

Burglary alarm-audible. 9:47 a.m. Tuesday. 0 block of Enterprise.

Vandalism report. 6:52 a.m. Tuesday. Awma Road and Wood Canyon Trail.

Suspicious person/circumstances. 10:19 p.m. Monday. 0 block of Sprucewood.  A caller asked sheriff deputies to check for a car, carrying several passengers who are driving around destroying trash cans.  Police received two similar calls last week.

Burglary in progress. 1:46 a.m. Monday. 0 block of University Drive. A resident said people were trying to break in a construction zone within the vicinity of Soka University property. 

Disturbance-mechanical. 3:24 p.m. Sunday. 22700 block of Pacific Park Drive.  A caller said a man in his 20s was racing through the parking lot on his motorcycle, using speed bumps to catch air.

Disturbance. 12:23 a.m. Sunday. 0 block of Rockrose. A resident said, two kids wearing black sweatshirts knocked on their door, then ran.

Trespassing. 11:00 a.m. Saturday. Wood Canyon Drive and Tivoli. A resident reported two men in their early 20s building a bike jump on a private vacant lot.

Traffic stop. 1:45 a.m. Saturday. Pacific Park Drive and Deerhurst. A 47-year-old woman was arrested during a traffic stop and was released from the Intake Release Center.

Traffic accident-non injury. 7:49 p.m. Friday. Aliso Creek Road and Pacific Park Drive. A driver involved in a traffic accident said that the driver of the silver Nissan Maxima who hit their car, was acting suspicious and then began walking toward a nearby store. Upon checking, the car had two different license plates on it.

Follow up report. 2:51 p.m. Friday. 23500 block of Windsong. A man told police that he found his belongings being sold on the internet by another party.
