Scruffy Man Seen Petting Car

The following is a selection of calls from Aliso Viejo to the Orange County Sheriff's Department from April 19 to April 22.

A tall, scruffy-looking man was fooling around with a neighbor's car, touching and patting it, according to a caller from the 0 block of Sea Pines. The call was made around 1:17 p.m., Wednesday.

Vandalism. 1:09 p.m. Friday. 2400 block of City Lights Drive.

Burglary alarm-audible. 7:52 a.m. Friday. 0 block of Santa Barbara Drive. 

Warrant arrest. 7:27 a.m. Friday. 9200 block of Capobella. A 47-year-old man who works as a musician was arrested on an outstanding warrant and placed in custody at Central Men's Jail on $15,000 bail.

Unknown trouble. 1:11 a.m. Friday. Pursuit and Monstad Street.

Traffic stop. 10:32 p.m. Thursday. 0 block of Dawn Lane. A 21-year-old woman, who works as a store clerk, was arrested during a traffic stop and placed in custody at Orange County Jail on $20,000 bail.

Suspicious person/circumstances. 7:51 a.m. Thursday. 0 block of Hummingbird Lane. A caller reported a man walking on a trail who had his sweatshirt pulled up over his head.

Suspicious person in vehicle. 12:30 a.m. Thursday. Westridge Drive and Oak View Drive. A caller concerned about recent burglaries in the area asked deputies to check for a black Chevrolet Suburban with tinted windows driving around the private compound.

Disturbance. 9:36 p.m. Wednesday. 24700 block of Via San Rafael. A resident reported two men who walked up to her while she was in her garage and threw rocks at her.

Disturbance. 3:31 p.m. Wednesday. 0 block of Sobrante. A caller said a former neighbor walked up to him and punched him.

Reckless driving. 9:40 p.m. Tuesday. 0 block of Cellini. A resident asked deputies to check for a group of people in a black-and-white Jeep who were driving recklessly and playing “chicken” with each other.

Welfare check. 7:18 p.m. Tuesday. Aliso Creek Road and Enterprise. A caller said a teenage boy wearing a striped shirt and holding a clipboard was walking into traffic.
