Shoplifter Bolts – but Leaves ID Behind

These are selected reports from the San Juan Capistrano Police Dispatch Services log throughout the past few days. The calls represent what was told to a sheriff's deputy in the field by the radio dispatcher. No presumption of criminal guilt or affiliation should be drawn from the information provided.

At 9:32 a.m. Thursday, someone reported an indecent exposure in the 33000 block of Calle Aviador.

At 8:46 p.m. Wednesday, deputies were called to assist an outside agency. Turns out, no animal control officer was available in South County, and deputies were asked to retrieve a puppy near the intersection of San Juan Creek Road and Camino Lacouague. The dog was described as either a golden retriever or yellow lab and was running loose among traffic.

At 6:29 p.m. Wednesday, an employee at Rite Aid on Camino Capistrano called to say a female was shoplifting, but ran out of the store. However, she left her purse and identification behind.

At 5:20 p.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a gang disturbance. Specifically, the complaint said three people near the corner of Calle San Juan and Calle San Francisco were drinking.

At 3:37 p.m. Wednesday, a male juvenile was reportedly caught stealing from Rite Aid on Camino Capistrano. According to the report, he was being “semi-cooperative.”

At :308 p.m. Wednesday, a caller told a dispatcher that a “big rig” with a trailer was spilling furniture out onto the roadway near the intersection of Ortega Highway and Calle Entradero. The truck was traveling westbound and the informant provided a license plate number.

At 8:40 a.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a stolen vehicle from the 32900 block of Calle Perfecto. There was no further information.

At 5:21 a.m. Wednesday, a caller phoned the sheriff’s department to report a stolen vehicle from the 32900 block of Avenida del Rosal. The informant indicated the vehicle was paid for.

At 1:53 p.m. Tuesday, a caller reported that a male and female were creating a disturbance in a parking lot in the 31100 block of Rancho Viejo Road. According to the report, the couple was bothering customers. The man was described as wearing a colorful shirt and green pants, while the woman was described as having long, dark hair.

At 10:50 a.m. Monday, a caller reported seeing a suspicious person near the 31400 block of Juliana Farms Road. According to the informant, a man had been camping in the creek near Tar Farms stables.

At 7:46 a.m. Sunday, a resident in the 27400 block of Vantage Circle reported that some mail had been stolen.

At 7:03 a.m. Sunday, a traffic stop resulted in the arrest of a man who had several warrants out for his arrest. The stop was made at the Highland-Buckingham drives intersection. The28-year-old man was arrested; there was no bail amount listed. His warrants were for noise disturbances, resisting a peace officer, a DUI, hit and run and driving with a suspended license.

Wow. How stupid do you have to be to go shoplifting & leave your ID behind? Maybe she stole the purse, did they look into that? I reported transients using the Metro link garage as a hotel & peeing everywhere & a car was sent the next morning & they were gone! Thanks SJC PD! But there is 1 more sleeping at the end of the patio where you purchase the MetroLink tickets, hmm stubborn, go get em!

indecent exposure seems to be popular around here. I remember 25 years ago 2 women ran into our business complaning about a flasher/fondler
