Aliso Viejo Celebrates 10th Birthday with Polynesian Dinner and Music

About 100 guests attended the party at the Aliso Viejo Conference Center.

Guy Montgomery and his band softly sang songs of the Pacific while guests dined on Polynesian chicken and rice.

Around 100 people attended Aliso Viejo's 10-year anniversary dinner Conference Center on Friday evening to commemorate the incorporation of the city on July 1, 2001.

Dignitaries were on hand at the celebration. Here are some of their words about the celebration.

"It's wonderful to see everyone here 10 years later," she the city's first and current mayor, Carmen Cave. 

"This is a marvelous community," said Bill Woollett, Aliso Viejo's first city manager.

"It's an honor to be at such a special occasion," said Field Representative Steven LaMotte.

"You are truly one of the cities that stands apart from many. You've accomplished so much in 10 years. This city, this community is remarkable," said Fifth District Supervisor, Patricia Bates. 

"Our congratulations on 10 years of amazing growth in Aliso Viejo. We're looking forward to 20," said District Director, Martin Paine.

Two framed resolutions were presented to the City of Aliso Viejo. One was signed by Bates, the other was signed by Assembly Members Donald Wagner, Diane Harkey and Mimi Walters.
