Aliso Viejo Family Resource Center Hosts Diabetes Prevention Classes

From the City of Aliso Viejo:

In an effort to encourage a healthy and fit lifestyle, the Aliso Viejo Family Resource Center will host "Diabetes Prevention and Nutrition for the Family" classes this month and next at the Iglesia Park Community Center.

The free classes, sponsored by CHOC Children's Hospital, Padre Foundation, Family Resource Center and Hoag Hospital, will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. Oct. 11 and Nov. 15 at 24671 Via Iglesia.

The classes will teach families how to play, shop and prepare meals together. Class activities and demonstrations are designed to motivate all members of the family to make healthier, better informed choices through label reading, media literacy and refusal skills.

The program will include prizes and healthy snacks.
