Council Awards Contract for City Hall Ventilation System Renovations

The City Council also honors a local cheer team and the graduates of the annual emergency preparedness class.

At a crowded but brief meeting Wednesday night, the City Council awarded a contract to renovate the heating, ventilation and air conditioning system at .

Officials awarded the $118,039 construction project—funded by a federal grant—to Honeywell Building Solutions.

According to a staff report, the new system will be an improvement over the old one and will save money and electricity.

The staff expects the project to start by the end of April and finish by the end of June.

  • Officials adopted a new plumbing ordinance that requires semi-annual maintenance and cleaning of grease interceptors (grease traps) in city sewer systems.

  • At least 20 members of Aliso Viejo’s Boy Scout Troop 700 attended the meeting as part of their goal to gain their Citizenship in the Community merit badge.
  • Girl Scout Troop 1366 led the flag salute.
