Iglesia Park and Community Center Reopen to the Public

Mayor Carmen Cave cut the ribbon at the reopening ceremony.

Iglesia Park and Community Center reopened Saturday with a ribbon cutting ceremony and health fair.

After being decommissioned as a senior center 10 years ago, the community center has undergone an overhaul and is now home to the Boys and Girls Club of Capistrano Valley Aliso Viejo Branch and Family Resource Center.

"The community loved the center so much that we had to find the money to do the work," said Mayor Carmen Cave, who cut the ribbon Saturday. "We're continuing to do work and make improvements and this community uses the park here heavily for birthdays and other events."
