Light Agenda on Tap for City Council Tonight

The regular meeting of the Aliso Viejo City Council will be held tonight (7 p.m.) in the Council Chambers of City Hall. However, don't expect any earth-shattering news to come from this mid-summer night's dream.

Only one public hearing and three discussion items are on the agenda. The other 13 items on the consent calendar likely will be approved or rejected based on the staff's recommendations in one fell swoop.

The council will revisit the Conditional Use Permit for modifications to the existing building-mounted wireless communication facility at Coast Hills Community Church. A couple months ago the council asked that the owners blend the wireless facility into the facade of the church so it would not be too obvious. The resolution is expected to be adopted.

Council members are expected to designate a voting delegte and up to two alternates for the League of California Cities Annual Conference, to be held September 5-7, 2012 at the San Diego Convention Center.

They also are expected to authorize City Manager Mark A. Pulone to execute a second agreement that would authorize a budget amendment in the amount of $7,500 from the Community Trust Account Unreserved Fund Balance to expand the Community Service Programs with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Capistrano Valley to fund more teen programs. The current budget was intended for K-6th graders, but the increasing number of teenagers at the BGCCV necessitates the change.

Finally, the council will be entering into an agreement with PeopleStar FilmWorks for the production of a "LipDub" video for the City of Aliso Viejo. The video is expected to be shot in mid-August.
