State Senator Comes to Area to Talk About the State of the State

The Orange County Senator is expected to give some details on Friday on what's happening at the state capitol.

Senator Mimi Walters will make an appearance in Laguna Niguel to discuss the “State of the State.”

The event is scheduled from 7:15 – 9 a.m. Friday, Jan. 10 in Laguna Niguel City Hall. Aliso Viejo’s Chamber of Commerce is helping spread the word about the event that is presented by Laguna Niguel Chamber of Commerce.

Walters represents the 37th State Senate District. Having previously served two, two-year terms in the State Assembly, Walters was elected to the State Senate in 2008, according to her biography.

Senator Walters began her career in public service as a member of the Laguna Niguel City Council in 1996, according to her bio. She served as the City’s mayor in 2000, and as a councilwoman.

She is a founder of the California Women’s Leadership Association and has served on the Boards of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), the Laguna Niguel Republican Women Federated, the American Cancer Society, and the South Coast Medical Center Foundation.
