Temecula Mayor Honored As 'Champion Of The Community'

Temecula Mayor Mike Naggar will be recognized for support he has given to parks and recreation in the community.

Temecula Mayor Mike Naggar is being honored by the California Park & Recreation Society as a 2012 Champion of the Community, it has been announced.

City staff received news of the award Friday in an email from CPRS Executive Director Jane H. Adams.

“It is an honor to recognize Mayor Naggar for the support he has given to parks and recreation in your community,” Adams wrote.

CPRS will recognize Naggar during its Annual Awards Banquet on March 8 at the San Jose Fairmont Hotel in San Jose.

Founded in 1946, CPRS is a member-based nonprofit, professional and public interest organization focused on creating community.

Funny how so many of the people who post here are so ignorant, yet so passionate about that which they are wrong about.

I'm an idiot who believes elections decide the leaders... not the employees of the city.

REPEAT: Elections?? I voted Washington for Mayor... not his side kick. Why have an illegal election if this sort of trickery is involved? Where is Mayor Washington?? Elections decide the leaders... not the employees of the city.

The only comment I have is for Jerry Simeon. YOU DID NOT vote for Washington for Mayor! You vote for city council members. The position of Mayor is not voted on by citizens, they are voted in solely by other members of the city council. The Mayor is the spokes-hole for the City for 1 year. They have no more power to do anything more than any other council member. Since Mike Naggar was voted in as this years' Mayor it appears his shoulders are shrinking rapidly.

I stand corrected. You are right. I reviewed the election results and adjusted my thinking. As you see, I am not reluctant to stand behind my votes and support of candidates or issues. As I said though, as long as I've been in Temecula, Washington has been Mayor. When I shook his hand and congratulated him for winning re-election, he said nothing. Where is Chuck Washington?
