'Intersection from Hell': Deerhurst and Pacific Park

The polls have closed for the worst intersection in Aliso Viejo.

The winner of Aliso Viejo Patch's first "Worst of" poll is Pacific Park Drive and Deerhurst—the city's worst intersection.

Aliso Creek Road and Pacific Park Drive came in second place.

As promised, we sent the results to city hall. City Manager Mark Pulone responded with the following statement:

"Although Aliso Viejo is very fortunate to have a roadway system that was constructed to handle the traffic volumes generated in the city, like most cities, we do have congestion around most of the schools during the morning drop off times.  We have worked closely with the schools, Sheriff’s Department and Public Works to address morning congestion and improve traffic flow.  In fact, the city recently made improvements to the Deerhurst/Pacific Park intersection to improve traffic flow.  We also sponsor Walk to School days to encourage parents to walk their kids to school, which helps reduce morning traffic issues."

Check out the results to Patch's recent "Best of" polls, which found the best burger, cupcake and breakfast in town.
