Local Athlete Selected for National Team

Lacrosse player raises funds to travel to New York and compete with the O.C./L.A. Women's Division National Tournament Team.

Emily Elkins, a member of the Aliso Niguel High School Lady Wolverine lacrosse team, has been selected for the O.C./L.A. Women’s Division National Tournament Team.

More than 100 female lacrosse athletes participated in tryouts April 10. The selected athletes, who make up the O.C./L.A. team, will travel to New York  to compete in the National Tournament on May 28 and 29. The team will also attend the 2011 NCAA Division 1 Finals.

To raise funds for the trip, the team has partnered with the O.C. Marathon. The team will run in the 5K O.C. Marathon on May 1.
