Scavenger Run in Laguna Hills Offers Free Beer

Here are five things to keep you informed about Aliso Viejo and Orange County Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013.


  1. Sarah the cocker spaniel needs a home. The 8-year-old would do well as the only dog in a quiet home with the love and attention she deserves, according to the Pet Rescue Center.
  2. A 60-minute scavenger run is coming to Laguna Hills, created by Road Runner Sports. The Thursday, Sept. 5 event at 6 p.m. is free. Pre-register for one free beer.
  3. Soka University has announced a new Master of Arts program in Educational Leadership and Societal Change that will open in August 2014. The school started taking applications for the new degree this month.
  4. Mayor Carmen Cave and the Aliso Viejo Chamber of Commerce are teaming up for this year's State of the City address Sept. 21. Tickets for the 6:30 p.m. reception and address are $20. Stay for the 8 p.m. performance by the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet for $35.
  5. Comedian Bobby Slayton performs at 8 p.m. at the Improv at the Irvine Spectrum, 71 Fortune Drive.
