Ever Wanted to Perform on a Music Video?

There's still time to register for Lip Dub on Aug. 19, which will showcase the Aliso Viejo community.

The City of Aliso Viejo wants individuals of all ages, groups, organizations, schools, churches and businesses to participate in its first musical video on Aug. 19. The video, known as a "Lip Dub," will showcase the Aliso Viejo community.

A Lip Dub is a type of video that combines lip syncing and audio dubbing to make a music video. It is made by filming people lip syncing to a song and then dubbing over it in post editing with the original audio of the song.

The city has joined forces with the Aliso Viejo Foundation and Chip and Kim McAllister of PeopleStar FilmWorks (the couple who won "The Amazing Race" in 2004) to produce the video to showcase Aliso Viejo.

The filming will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. along the streets of Journey, Pacific Park and the Aliso Viejo Town Center.

Chip McAllister has enlisted the help of world-class choreographer Milo Levell, whose Hip Hop Fitness class has attracted Hollywood's elite from Julia Roberts, Sandra Bullock and Diana Ross to Jessica Alba and many others. Levell is the first in the nation to have his own "Hip Hop Fitness Dance" TV show produced by actress Mimi Rogers.

The video, which will feature the music of Kool & the Gang's "Celebration," is an opportunity for residents to be part of Aliso Viejo history.
