Nearly 200 Volunteers Spruce Up Aliso Viejo Ranch

As part of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' Called to Serve Youth Leadership Conference, 150 youth and 30 adults volunteer in Aliso Viejo.

Aliso Viejo Ranch, which consists of an old barn and bunkhouse, received some needed care Saturday from nearly 200 volunteers from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Volunteers consisted of 150 youth and 30 adults from Aliso Viejo, Laguna Beach, Laguna Niguel and Laguna Hills. As part of the church's annual Called to Serve Youth Leadership Conference, volunteers spent three hours cleaning and painting the barn and bunkhouse, raking the property, fixing the fence and more.

"It was a thrill to see nearly 150 kids working for several hours to beautify the ranch by painting the barn and bunkhouse, clearing away leaves and debris, and filling a 40-cubic-yard bin with their work. Their service will be a great benefit to the community and to all those who enjoy the historic ranch throughout the year," said Gracie Duran, city community services coordinator.
