Residents Fill Grand Park for AVCA Celebration
The Aliso Viejo Community Association's Fourth of July gathering lights up the sky with fireworks to celebrate the country's independence.
Crowds of residents and guests gathered in Grand Park on Monday to watch fireworks and celebrate the the Fourth of July.
"We feel this year had the largest turnout ever," said Bill Conley, a volunteer with the Aliso Viejo Community Association. "We learned a lot of lessons this year in order to make it even better next year. Overall, it worked out really well."
AVCA hosted the celebration, which included games, food, live entertainment and ended with a fireworks show.

"It's really improved this year," said Sarah Mae Garcia. "I've come to the Fourth of July celebration over the past four to five years, and this year the crowd was much more energized."
Myles McLaughlin has lived in the city for a year and enjoyed having an event so close to his home.

"I moved here from Ireland last year, and my family and I love living here," he said. "The fireworks were great, and it was just a few blocks from home."
Another resident of three years said he loved the show.
"We've been coming to watch the fireworks for the last three years," said Matt Norton. "This year had a bigger turnout than last year's, and the fireworks were great."
