Whales, Mardi Gras and Broadway

Five things you need to know today, March 7.

Happy Monday! Here's a few things to plan for today and throughout the week.

  1. The Festival of Whales in Dana Point began this past weekend and continues March 12 and 13. Although it's not in Aliso Viejo, it is a great local event for land lovers and sea dogs alike.
  2. Help the Aliso Viejo Branch of the Boys and Girls Club celebrate their fifth anniversary with the Mardi Gras Ball on March 8 at the . Bausch & Lomb CEO and President, Robert E. Grant, and his wife, Kathryn, will preside as the king and queen of the ball. Tickets are $150 per person, $275 per couple. A portion of the proceeds will benefit a sister club in Louisiana.   3. Play dress up, sing and dance with your kids today during Mommy and Me on Broadway at . Children ages 18 months to three years old and their parents are invited today from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Call 949-305-9758 for more details and to make your reservation.
  4. The rain might not be over yet. The National Weather Service is forecasting a 30 percent chance of rain before 10 a.m. High near 59.
