Eli Manning is Sad
The new gif of disappointed Eli Manning is sweeping the nation and for good reason.
Ladies and gentleman, what you are about to see is amazing. The Manning brothers are football royalty. Peyton Manning will finish his career as a member of the Hall of Fame and younger brother Eli will finish his career with two championships. [1]
Unfortunately the internet does not care about Super Bowl success or records. They care about memes and gifs. It is very possible that Eli Manning’s legacy will not be winning two Super Bowls but creating “The Manning Face.” [2]
The Manning face is easy to imitate. Throw your arms up, shake your head a few times and have a “what the hell did I do to deserve this” look on your face. It helps if you have a weird mid 1990s haircut and are really pale.

This is a flawless Manning Face. This took place Sunday night after a ball tipped into the air by the Giants running back turned into an interception that was returned for a touchdown. Thank goodness it happened too. I haven’t seen a great Manning Face in quite some time and was suffering from withdrawal syndrome.

The Manning Face really should be used more often in life. When a kid asks a stupid question in class the teacher should do the Manning Face. Or when your boss asks you to work overtime. Or when your wife or girlfriend wants you to watch HGTV with her.
So go home and practice your Manning Face in the mirror and try to integrate it into your everyday life. [3] And vigorously root against the Giants this weekend so we can see more Manning Faces. Ironically, Eli Manning and the Giants take on big brother Peyton and the Broncos. We have a possibility of multiple Manning Faces from both teams in the same game. This is too good to be true. I might faint.
[1] Peyton invented the Manning Face before Eli perfected it. God knows that as a Colts fan I saw many Manning Faces from 1998-2010.
[2] It is pretty damn impressive that Eli has won two Super Bowls against Tom Brady and the Patriots. It is crazy that a quarterback who has beaten the best quarterback of a generation in two Super Bowls but is still not widely respected. But gifs are hilarious so let's keep disrespecting Eli.
