Final Emergency Preparedness Class Focuses on Lessons Learned

The class works through a simulated disaster situation.

Editor's note: The Community Emergency Preparedness Academy is an eight-week program in Aliso Viejo that teaches residents what to do in an emergency. The workshop began Feb. 8.

Tuesday marked the final week of the Community Emergency Preparedness Academy. Those in the class went to the Aliso Viejo Fire Department to test their skills.

Firefighters set up a variety of stations to test the students' knowledge of extinguishing fires, first-aid practice and removing an injured person from earthquake rubble.
