Free Car Seat Inspections Tuesday

Aliso Viejo Police Services is teaming up with Safe Kids Orange County and the Orange County Chapter of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners to provide free car seat inspections on Tuesday.

The inspections will take place at Corpus Christi Catholic-Christian Community Church from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The one hour inspections are by appointment only, according to a city of Aliso Viejo press release.

Nationally certified technicians from Safe Kids Orange County will perform the inspections, as well as train parents how to properly install car seats.

"According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, approximately 73 percent of all child passenger restraints—more than 80 percent of car seats and about 40 percent of booster seats—are used incorrectly," according to the release.
