Baby Behind the Wheel?

Sheriff's Blotter: Selected calls from Aliso Viejo to the Orange County Sheriff's Department, Sept. 4-7.

A caller asked deputies to check for a black Chevrolet Suburban with its emergency lights on near the intersection of Aliso Creek Road and Wolverine Way, adding that a baby was in the front seat near the steering wheel with no adult supervision.

The report was made at 5:04 p.m. Thursday.

Burglar alarm-audible. 5:42 a.m. Friday. 26800 block Aliso Creek Road.

Suspicious staring. 9:50 a.m. Thursday. 26900 block Aliso Viejo Parkway. A caller said two men in a white panel van stared at her and another customer as they made ATM transactions.

Charity workers or thieves? 8:41 a.m. Thursday. Songbird Lane and Firecrest Lane. A caller asked deputies to check for three males in a large white truck who were going into people's houses and taking items to be donated.

Kid vs. ice machine. 5:35 a.m. Wednesday. Pacific Park Drive and Aliso Creek Road. A juvenile was attempting to break into an ice machine and take money.

Going in circles. 12:20 a.m. Wednesday. Aliso Creek Road and Pacific Park Drive. A caller said a man in his 40s -- wearing a green shirt, bandana and tube socks -- was spinning in circles and staring at him and his girlfriend.

Suspicious luxury car. 10:26 p.m. Tuesday. 27100 block Aliso Creek Road. A caller said a tan Mercedes-Benz had been cruising the area for several nights.

Suspicious dude alert. 5:45 p.m. Tuesday. Peppertree and Pacific Park Drive. A caller asked deputies to check for two suspicious-looking men in their 20s who were loitering at a nearby water tower.
