Senior Prank Foiled by Cops at Aliso Niguel High

Acting on a tip, authorities beef up security and thwart plans for mischief.

Plans for a senior prank were apparently foiled Sunday night at Aliso Niguel High School, according to sheriff's Sgt. D.J. Haldeman.

Deputies were tipped off to the mischief plot in advance, he said, so the high school beefed up security.

"When (deputies) saw juveniles showing up, we sent units down there to say, 'Hi kids, how you doing?'" Haldeman said. "They tried to do the senior prank last night, but they were unsuccessful."

Because the prank was stopped before it unfolded, the Sheriff's Department never learned exactly what the students intended to do, Haldeman said.
