Aliso Viejo welcomed the holidays with “a special appearance by Santa and lots of holiday cheer,” on Sunday during the annual Winter Holiday event.

A crowd gathered Grand Park- AV Town Center and welcomed the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus. The city also lit of the city tree. The event featured live entertainment, refreshments including hot chocolate, organizers said.

Just to correct the record, Santa's arrival and tree lighting were brought to the community by the AV residents through the efforts of the Aliso Viejo Community Association and its Events Committee. The city donated cookies for the refreshment of the community. Hot chocolate was made by the volunteers of the Events committee to help keep the children warm for their visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
