'Match.com' for Aliso Viejo Volunteers on Wednesday's City Council Agenda

The city council will look into funding for The Aliso Viejo Exchange, a new volunteering website for the city.

Wednesday's city council meeting will look at the proposed funding for a community volunteer website called The Aliso Viejo Exchange (AVX).

The idea, by Council Member during the Feb. 1 meeting, is a means for locals to find volunteer opportunities with city community groups. Tsunoda has called it a “match.com” for those trying to join up with city community groups.

The cost of the "website application for the program" is estimated at $50,000, with no additional staff hours needed. It will be proposed to take the start-up costs for AVX from the general fund (the 2011-12 operating budget for the general fund is $562,245).
