Aliso Niguel High Dance Team Showcases Talent

Dance showcase raises funds and says goodbye to the senior class.

The Aliso Niguel High School Dance Team showcased their skills to a full house on Friday to raise funds for the team.

The event included the youth Diva Dance Camp for young girls, which is hosted by the ANHS dance team.

"We started practicing since spring break," said ANHS dance instructor Ann-Marie Desiano. "Everything done today is created by the students. It showcases their skills and is a nice farewell to the graduating seniors."

According to Desiano, this year was the first time that boys participated in the show. Some of the girls on the dance team commented on the difficulties of training the boys.

"It’s so hard to get the boys under control," said Emily Ornelas. "No matter how much you scream at them they never listen."

Dominique Dipilla agreed that training the boys was difficult.

"In the end it worked out great," she said.

The audience cheered for their friends on stage and after every dance they roared in applause.

"The crowd definitely had a lot of energy," said Kelsie Buxbaum.

One of the main purposes behind the show is to say goodbye to a group of students who will be missed.

"It's a good way to say goodbye to the seniors," said Aley Davis.

Overall, all of the dancers agreed on one thing— all the work it was worth it.

"No matter how stressful the rehearsals were we always came up with a good show," Brandi Walshe said.
