Ted-Movie Review

Ted, movie review, Seth MacFarlane, Mark Wahlberg, Mila Kunis, comedy, movie, new releases

If you were to take a quick glimpse at the poster of the movie ‘Ted,’ you would most likely assume that it is a new children’s movie. However before deciding to take your kids, watch the trailer and you will discover why it has been given an R rating!

‘Ted’ released this past weekend on June 29th and stars Mark Wahlberg, Mila Kunis and Seth MacFarlane as the voice of Ted. The story revolves around the friendship between John Bennett (Wahlberg’s character) and his talking bear, Ted.  John and Ted have been inseparable since childhood and have experienced all stages of life being side by side. John and Lori have been dating for four years and live together, along with Ted. On their four year anniversary, Lori asks John to make other living arrangements for Ted because she feels as though living with Ted is holding John back from getting a real job and being the mature man he should be at 35. John is torn between the love of his life and his best friend. The story continues from there and ultimately gives us adults warms feelings about our childhood and friendship in general.

Seth MacFarlane who has also directed the movie has done a great job at portraying Ted as the typical adult man. Ted smokes, dates girls and works at a grocery store. MacFarlane puts grown-up humor into everything Ted does but also gives him a sensitive side. Mark Wahlberg is wonderful playing John’s character and really brings out the child in him. His interaction with Ted is entertaining to watch, as are the emotional scenes between the two. Mila Kunis does an apt job as playing the irritated yet caring girlfriend of John. Considering that the movie revolves around these three actors, they all put on an enjoyable show.
